Addiction and Rehabilitation Psychology

Addiction and Rehabilitation Psychology examine the psychological, behavioral, and social aspects of substance use disorders and addictive behaviours. This track explores evidence-based approaches for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term recovery from addictions related to alcohol, drugs, gambling, gaming, and other compulsive behaviours. Sessions will discuss behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, rehabilitation strategies, and integrated mental healthcare approaches that support recovery and emotional healing.

The track also highlights emerging research on neurobiology of addiction, trauma-related substance abuse, and community rehabilitation programs. Experts will address stigma reduction, family support systems, digital addiction concerns, and holistic approaches to recovery and mental wellness. Research presentations will examine innovative treatment models, rehabilitation technologies, and public health strategies that improve patient outcomes. This track aims to promote compassionate addiction care and strengthen rehabilitation practices that support sustainable recovery.
