Personality Disorders and Treatment

Personality Disorders and Treatment focus on understanding enduring patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that significantly affect interpersonal relationships and daily functioning. This track explores conditions such as borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, and avoidant personality disorder. Sessions will discuss diagnostic challenges, psychotherapy approaches, emotional regulation strategies, and evidence-based interventions that support long-term mental health management and recovery.

The track also highlights advances in trauma-informed care, dialectical behaviour therapy, schema therapy, and integrative treatment approaches for personality disorders. Experts will discuss comorbid mental health conditions, therapeutic alliance building, stigma reduction, and patient-centred care strategies. Research presentations will examine neurobiological influences, innovative therapeutic models, and long-term treatment outcomes in personality disorder care. This track aims to improve understanding, compassion, and effective treatment practices for individuals living with personality disorders.
